Finishing Process

After we receive the pre-primed components they are assembled with only the highest quality machinery. After assembly has taken place, we send through our finish department for a 3 step process.

The finishing process begins when panels go into our hand sanding department to re-sand and check for any final touch ups and prepare for a top finish coat of lacquer. The shutter panels are repaired as necessary and sent to the paint department for a top coat of lacquer finish. This is a premium quality paint that is used primary for furniture and cabinets.

If you desire we can paint your shutters with an environmentally friendly “green” paint. The Georgian Plantation Shutter Company has recently added the capability to paint you shutters with a paint product with Zero HAPS / VOCS.

Panels go through final inspection and quality check as they go through the hardware department.

Installations

Every window is unique in its size, shape, and depth. That is why we offer so many hanging options for your shutters. Do you have decorative trim in your windows? If so, you may wish to have your shutters installed into the inside of your windows. We use hanging strips to mount your shutters to the inside of your window (the hanging strip cannot be seen). If you do not have trim around your windows, you may opt for frames to be built around your shutters. When installed, the frames act as trim and add a decorative look to your existing decor. The Georgian Company can advise you as to the type of hanging options you might like. Your shutters can be installed by our professional, expert and insured installation staff. We will install your plantation shutters to your satisfaction, guaranteed. But, our service does not stop there! We will service your shutters for as long as you own your home!
